These rich emollients not only healed his skin, they prevented future injury! Our secret? The beeswax locks the moisturizers in place!
Mixed Fresh Berry Sorbet with Honey July 18, 2013 by bbfadmin While in France, Brigitte, our host crafted the most delicious sorbets for us–melon and strawberry–using the freshest of fruits. Inspired by Brigitte and the current heat wave, I just blended up a batch of Berry Sorbet. For two quarts: 1.5 cups of fresh berries (I used strawberries and blueberries), 1 cup of sugar (the recipe called for 1.5 cups, but I wanted to experiment with some honey), 1/4 cup of honey blended with 4 cups of water, and the juice from one lemon. I mixed the berries with the sugar and lemon, refrigerated for two hours, then added the berries and the water/honey mixture to a 2-quart ice cream maker. Half an hour later, Voila!
Honey…Natural Energy! July 3, 2012 by bbfadmin Honey is a rich source of carbohydrates–17 grams per tablespoon–which makes it ideal for your working muscles, since carbohydrates are the primary fuel the body uses for energy. Carbs are necessary in the diet to help maintain muscle glycogen, also known as stored carbohydrates, which are the most important fuel source for athletes to help them keep going. Eat a tablespoon before exercising When honey with its trace amounts of antioxidants, enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids, is eaten before a workout, it is released into the system at a steady rate throughout exercise…helping your muscles stay nourished longer so you won’t get tired as quickly.
