Afternoon Treat
-
Harvested some combed honey today and thought I’d give the honeybees an afternoon treat–the remnants of the cut comb. I headed to the honey house to put on my beekeeper’s garb with the intention of carrying the buckets to the edge of the beeyard. Placing honey too close to the hives will encourage “robbing” behavior where honeybees raid other hives for honey. Returned within five minutes to find that the scout bees had already located the treat. Left the lot where it laid for honeybee cleanup!
